How we do it

From what is there to a stamped set.

1. 01

   Start from what exists

   We begin with the survey, the field measurements and any drawings you already have, including an architect's AutoCAD set.

   Grid dimensions are checked against the field-verified survey before modeling starts. Where an architect's set exists it is the base; the model follows it rather than redrawing it from memory.

2. 02

   Agents build the Revit model

   Specialist agents, one per discipline, build the model on a dedicated Revit workstation: shell, structure, envelope, systems, then the sheets.

   The agents drive Revit through a programmatic control surface of 138 tools, with a quality-review agent in the team. Each skill is captured from a licensed architect's working session and checked against geometry and code gates (IBC, IEBC) before it enters the library.

3. 03

   People check it against the building

   A person checks the model against the field and the architect's set. When a check fails, the build stops and restarts from the corrected base.

   On our own building a grid dimension carried wrong for weeks was caught against the field survey, and one build was stopped outright when its base proved wrong. Every correction goes back into the skills so the same mistake is not made twice.

4. 04

   A licensed architect stamps

   A licensed architect reviews and stamps the documents. Kanopi does the production hours; the architect's judgment and seal stay where they belong.

5. 05

   Renderings from the same model

   Massing and rough walkthroughs come first, then finished stills and walkthroughs, so a buyer, a lender or a homeowner can see the building before it exists.

6. 06

   The model feeds the bid

   When Kanopi draws the building, the quantities come straight off the model into Kanopi Takeoff and Kanopi Bid. No second drawing, no gap between the plans and the price.

Next to other tools

Kanopi Design changes who does the production hours, not who signs the drawings. Here is how it sits next to the usual way.

An architect's production team

Drafts the set by hand in Revit or AutoCAD, sheet by sheet. Kanopi's agents do that production under a person's direction, and a licensed architect still reviews and stamps.

A Revit seat on its own

The same software. Kanopi adds the agents that drive it, the checks against the field and the code gates, and the line from the model into the bid.

Separate design and estimating firms

The drawings come from one firm and the price from another, and the gap between them is where change orders start. Kanopi does both from one model.

Kanopi Design does not replace the architect of record. Plan-set scope and fee are quoted per project.
